18β-Glycyrrhetinic Acid CAS 471-53-4

glycyrrhetinic acid is a oleane-type pentacyclic triterpenoid compound extracted from the rhizomes of leguminous plants such as Glycyrrhiza uralensis, Glycyrrhiza uralensis or Glycyrrhiza uralensis. [1] [9] Its molecular formula is C30H46O4, and its molecular weight is 470.68
There are two configurations: 18α-glycyrrhetinic acid (18α-glycyrrhetinic acid) and 18β-glycyrrhetinic acid (18β-glycyrrhetinic acid). The former is in the form of plate-like crystals, with a melting point of 283℃ and an optical rotation of +140.0 (ethanol) and +163.0 (chloroform). The latter is needle-like crystals, with a melting point of 296℃ and an optical rotation of +86.0 (ethanol). Both are readily soluble in chloroform, methanol and ethanol.

A series of derivatives with different physiological activities can be obtained by structurally modifying the active sites such as the hydroxyl group at the C-3 position, the carbonyl group at the C-11 position and the carboxyl group at the C-30 position of glycyrrhetinic acid
