Disodium octaborate tetrahydrate (molecular formula: Na₂B₈O₁₃·4H₂O) is a white powdered high-efficiency instant borate with a boron content of 20.5%-21.0%, with the characteristics of high boron and low sodium, 100% cold water total soluble. Its aqueous solution is weakly alkaline (pH 7.5–8.5), odorless and colorless, non-corrosive to metals, and can be quickly absorbed by plants after spraying. It is mainly used as a foliar boron fertilizer for the prevention and control of physiological disorders such as "buds but not flowers" and "flowers but not fruits" caused by boron deficiency in crops, significantly improving yield and quality, and is suitable for fruit trees, vegetables, grains and oils and cash crops. In addition, it is also used in industrial fields such as wood preservation, fungicide and water treatment
