Poly(ethylene glycol) distearate is a non-ionic surfactant, usually a white to yellowish waxy solid or flake.Its molecule is formed by esterification of polyethylene glycol (PEG) and stearic acid, with both hydrophilic and lipophilic properties, and it is widely used as emulsifier and thickener in cosmetics (e.g. creams and shampoos) and as softener in the textile industry.It is mild in nature, but should be stored at high temperature for a long time to prevent decomposition.
