1227 (dodecyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride) is easily soluble in water and is not affected by water hardness. Therefore, it is widely used in circulating cooling water systems in the petroleum, chemical, electric power, textile and other industries to control the growth of bacteria and algae in circulating cooling water systems, and is particularly effective in killing sulfate-reducing bacteria. At the same time, it can also be used as a bactericide and mildew-proof agent, softener, antistatic agent, emulsifier, conditioner, etc. in the textile printing and dyeing industry.

1227 (dodecyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride) is used as a non-oxidizing bactericide and algaecide, and the general dosage is 50-100 mg/L; as a slime stripping agent, the dosage is 200-300 mg/L, and an appropriate amount of silicone defoamer can be added when necessary. 1227 can be used in combination with other bactericides, such as isothiazolinone, glutaraldehyde, dithiocyanomethane, etc., which can play a synergistic role, but it cannot be used together with chlorophenol agents. After adding 1227, dirt will appear in the circulating water due to stripping, which should be filtered or removed in time to avoid sedimentation after the foam disappears.
