Cetearyl Alcohol is a white waxy solid or flake mixed with cetyl alcohol and octadecyl alcohol, odourless and delicate to the touch.As a classic non-ionic emulsifier and thickener, it is widely used in cosmetics (e.g. creams, lotions), pharmaceutical ointments and personal care products to stabilise the emulsification system and enhance the consistency of creams, as well as to provide a soft and emollient skin feel.It is mild, but high concentrations may cause slight irritation to sensitive skin, and contact with strong oxidising agents should be avoided.
