Refractive index ranging from 1.511 to 1.513. Can be miscible with alcohols, ketones, oils, aromatic hydrocarbons, and aliphatic halogenated hydrocarbons, but insoluble in water. Used as a solvent and fragrance. Can be used as a solvent for nitrocellulose and cellulose acetate. For spices, it can be used to prepare various essence, such as jasmine, orange, carnation and other flower essential oils. It is also used to prepare fruit type edible essence.
