1,1,1-Tris(hydroxymethyl)ethane 77-85-0
Trimethylol ethane (TME) is a high-performance polyol with three primary hydroxyl groups, odorless, free flowing white crystalline solid. It can react with polyacids to produce polyester resin. These hydroxyl containing polyester resins can be crosslinked and cured with isocyanates, amino resins, etc., or modified with organic silicon resins, epoxy resins, etc., for products that require high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, weather resistance, and light retention. It can also be used in the fields of polyester synthetic lubricants, plasticizers, plastic stabilizers, and titanium dioxide coatings, giving the product excellent weather resistance, light resistance, and temperature resistance. The compact new pentyl structure of trihydroxymethyl ethane (TME) provides a high content of hydroxyl groups and exhibits excellent heat resistance, light resistance, hydrolysis resistance, and antioxidant properties. TME can be used as a polyol for the synthesis of alkyd resins. TME alkyd resins can be used to produce coatings with high-quality color, excellent weather resistance, thermal stability, light retention, baking resistance, and pollution resistance.
